General Presentation

  The Department of Computer Science was established in 1993 as a part of the Faculty of Electrotechnics and Informatics. Domain goal of the Department is to assure the teaching of students from the Computers section of the Systems and Computer Science profile but it is also responsable for the courses in computers programming and utilisation from the other sections of the Faculty.

  The specialization wants to prepare the students for the installation, utilisation and putting in good order of the calculation systems in the context of introducing and extending of the informational application in different areas on the economic activity. This mission is well defined by the educational plans elaborated by the Department, by the analytical programs worked out by the desk and approuved by the Faculty Council in the context of the related profiles and specialities.

  Since 1995 our students regularly attended the Student National Competition on Software and Hardware Engineering. Each year the Department, and since 1992 the Student Union, organises Symposium where the best student research results are presented.
